Claude M. (Mike) Wood, CEO

Mr. Wood along with his two brother, Pat and Jerry Wood founded Wood Brothers Construction Company in 1963.  All three are native Knoxvillians.  Mike is a graduate of Young High School, attended Jones Junior College and the University of Tennessee.  He is a State Certified Real Estate Appraiser and a senior member of the American Society of Appraisers.  He is past president of the Tennessee Association of Realtors and is actively involved in the Real Estate Development Business.  Mike has held various offices and director positions with Wood Brothers Construction Company for thirty-seven years.

William A. (Bill) Ussery, President

Mr. Ussery originates from Macon, Georgia.  He graduated from Lanier High School in Macon and also Southern Technical Institute in Atlanta, Georgia.  Mr. Ussery has forty plus years of experience in the construction field with the responsibilities including total coordination and operation of projects, estimating, project management, general management of all operations and employees.

Mrs. Best originates from Muskogee, Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma Christian College in Edmond, Oklahoma.  Mrs. Best's responsibilities at Wood Brothers include all financial record keeping and reporting, cash management, and budgeting.  She also works very closely with the company's banking and lending institutions.  Kay's experience in construction accounting covers over twenty years. 

Mr. Foster originates from Oneida, Tennessee.  He has been a Wood Brothers Construction Company employee for twenty-three years.  During this time he has worked in all phases of construction from the field to office operations.  He has hands on experience as a laborer, equipment operator, superintendent and project manager/estimator.  He has graduated from numerous AGC Training Sessions and Supervisory Programs along with OSHA Training and Requirement Seminars, etc.
